LEGAL ISSUES

An attempt to reverse aging can easily result in malpractice due to the negligence or mistake of a physician. This often leads to a lawsuit, in which liability insurance does not cover fraudulent acts so the defendant would have to pay out of pocket.

Social Issues

Cellular aging is becoming a well known discussed topic in the science field, but as researchers will soon discover how to reverse aging, and not all outcomes will be positive.

One negative effect of this would be that the world is already overpopulated. An end of aging would lead to a faster-growing population which would aggravate environmental factors such as food production.

Another downside of cellular aging is that if it was able to be reversed then the human culture would be considered predominant. This would block of the way to fresh and younger ideologies and would not allow the humankind to evolve.Cognitive changes in humans occur mainly in childhood so if one was to be immortal, new ways of thinking would not be adopted therefore cutting off evolution.

Even today there is considered to be a high amount of prejudice and ignorance for this world to continue on the way it is until the end of time. Senescence is required to make sure the world is constantly evolving, generation after generation, and if aging is able to be reversed then the world would stand still as is.

Legal Issues

There is a big risk of malpractice lawsuits in the medical field regarding the issue of reversing aging. For one instance, a lawsuit could be filed if the physician sells medication to a patient and the patient develops an unexpected complication and may blame the medication. In another instance, the patient's false expectations may lead to a lawsuit because they may be expected a level of age reversal but it may only elongate

their lifespan. Malpractice lawsuits have increased the costs of much medical practice significantly, and the cost only adds more risk to this age management program. Any physician that exaggerates the effect of the medical practice to reverse aging may also be charged with fraud, which would lead to an investigation conducted by legal attorneys. On top of everything, liability insurance does not cover

fraudulent acts so the defendant would be paying out of pocket. Negligence during the physical exam done by the physician can also lead to a lawsuit because then the medication could deteriorate the health of the patient. In an attempt to reverse aging, a physician can be a big risk for lawsuits and not always does insurance cover the incident.

Ethical Issues

Ethics are a big part of the effort that is being made to reverse aging, yet many people have their own opinions to offer for this matter. If researchers were able to elongate lifespans or reverse aging, this would only benefit the rich people. There are people in the world struggling to make ends meet, living in undeveloped countries where an average lifespan only goes up to 40 years.

On the other end of the spectrum, there are rich people living in some of the most developed and industrialized countries in the world where an average lifespan is 70-80 years. Only the rich would be able to afford this medical treatment. So it is considered unethical

for the rich to be immortal when poor people are dying in millions every day. It is also considered selfish because the quality of the time individuals spend being alive outweighs the quantity. Life is only meaningful if it is spent around people that bring positivity and happiness. So instead of trying to figure out a way to live longer, the society should be trying to figure out a way where living conditions could improve for everyone. Many philosophers also consider life as something that should be cherished for as long as you have it. People ideally should spend time doing this that bring them satisfaction, rather than trying to elongate a life that really had no meaning.
